The Scriptures tells us that there were seven days of Creation(Gen.1).the seventh day is the weekly Sabbath (Exodus 20:8-11;Gen.2:1-2). Likewise, there are "seven annual holy days in the Hebrew calendar"--1. Passover (1st.day of UnleavenBread),2. Last Day of Unleaven Bread,3. Pentecost (Shavuot),4. Yom Teruah (Blowing of Trumpets),5. Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement),6. First Day of the Feast of Tabernacles,& 7. Shemini Atzeret (the "Eight Day")(Leviticus 23).Also,there are seven Sabbatical years in a Jubilee cycle of years (Lev.25).That is, every seventh year is a "yr.of rest," even as the seventh day of the week is a day of "rest." After seven of These Sabbatical years,comes the fiftieth year,called the "Jubilee"of freedom,liberty,& redemption. Seven is therefore the number of divine perfection,completion & fullness.

"The Time of Jacob"s Trouble"
Notice that these prophecies involve both Israel and Judah. Who are these people? Most moderns think that this simply refers to the "Jews," and leave it at that. But such is not the case!
Jeremiah"s prophetic message is to both "Israel" AND "Judah." Ancient Israel was divided into 12 tribes. In the days of Rehoboam, son of Solomon, the kingdom split into two kingdoms, the northern kingdom of "Israel" with ten tribes, and the southern kingdom of Judah, wih two tribes -- who became known in history as the "Jews." The northern kingdom of Israel was carried into captivity by the Assyrians in 718-721 B.C., and was deported from the land to the region of the Caucasus and Black Sea.
History shows that millions of them dwelt in this region, and became known in history as the Cimmerians, Celts, and Anglo-Saxons. They migrated westward and became the nations of Western Euroope and the British Isles. The English-speaking Anglo-Saxons are the descendants of the leading tribe of the northern kingdom, the tribe of Joseph. The United States of America represents, in large measure, the tribe of Ephraim, prophesied to become a "union of states" or peoples, as in "The United States," and England and Canada largely represent the eastern and western portions of the tribe of Manasseh, who was prophesied to become "great," as in "Great Britain" (Gen.48:17-19).
Thus many of the amazing Biblical end-time prophecies do not just pertain to the "Jews," the descendants of Judah. They also pertain to the "birth-right" tribes of Israel -- the United States and British peoples, who were prophesied to become GREAT in the last days (see Gen.49, especially verses 22-26, and Deut.33:13-17). The "birthright promises" belonged to the house of Joseph, the leading tribe of the northern kingdom of Israel (I Chron.5:2). The promise of the Torah, and of which tribe the great king and Messiah would come from, however, belonged to the tribe of Judah, or the Jews (same verse)!
Thus the end-time prophecy of a "time of Jacob's trouble" is a prophecy relating specifically to the LEADING NATIONS of the Western world, as well as the Jews in what is today called "Israel" in the Middle East! This prophesied "time of trouble," then, must be worldwide -- GLOBAL -- and not just a reference to a "regional conflict" in the Middle East!
But Why Are Hard Times Coming?
Jeremiah warns of our present end -time predicament. God almighty says of our nations,"why should I forgive you ? Your children have forsaken me and sworn by gods that are not prostitutes. They are well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing for another man's wife. Should I not punish them for this ?' declares the Lord. Should I not avenge myself on a nation such as this ?" (Jer. 5:7-9).
Jeremiah continues his prophecy: "They have lied about the LORD: they said, He will do nothing! NO harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine. The prophets are but wind [wind-bags], and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them. Therefore this is what the LORD God Almighty says: Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a FIRE and these people the wood it consumes. O house of Israel [America and Britain, etc.], declares the LORD, I am bringing a distant nation against you -- an ancient and enduring nation, a people whose language you do not know, whose speech you do not understand. Their quivers are like an open grave; all of them are mighty warriors. They will devour your harvests and food, devour your your sons and daughters; they will devour your flocks and herds, devour your vines and fig trees. With the sword they will DESTROY the fortified cities in which you trust" (Jer.5:12-17).
God thunders through His prophet, "From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priets alike, all practice DECEIT. They dress the wound of my people as though it were not serious. 'Peace, peace,' they say, when there is no peace. Are they ashamed of their loathsome conduct? No, they have no shame at all; they do not even know how to blush. So they will fall among the fallen; they will be brought down when I punish them, says the LORD"(Jer.6:13-15).
Untrammeled GREED and avarice have led to the world's present economic brinkmanship, with the greatest Depression ever hovering like a ghost or a Dracula over our shoulder. Unbridled LUST has brought our western nations to the brink of RUIN!
God commands our nations to REPENT -- but His servants just sound like a bag of wind, an object of ridicule, to the vast, overwhelming majority. They have been blinded by the temptations of the present world with all its glitter, pleasure, and self-indulgence.
